DKC2 Kollab: Krow

My second offering for 's DKC2 collab!

Not sure why I decided to do Krow. Of all the character designs I really love in that game, he was never anything more to me than first-boss. You actually KILL him and he comes back later in ghost form, which is morbidly awesome, but not even that was enough to make him stand out especially in my eyes. Perhaps it was that- I wanted to draw a character I've never thought much about- which interested me. Also I've been in a total crow mood recently thanks to that Psycrow remix I did (although Krow's not even really a crow at all, but a vulture... ah well).

And while drawing him, I did think, as is my custom, dear readers. And I came up with a bit of a backstory for him. Like, where do those eggs come from?

You see, Krow had a mate, whom he cared for very much, and they had eggs- but shortly afterwards, she died. Absolutely heartbroken, Krow waited anxiously for the eggs to hatch, vowing to be the best father he could. Weeks passed- and then months- and it became apparent that all the eggs were duds. The tense waiting had been wearing down on the bird's mind, but the final realization that his mate was gone forever, and could not even live on through children, snapped his brain and drove him mad. No one dares to visit him in his nest, and when Diddy and Dixie show up there, he completely flips, finally getting rid of his eggs in a senseless fury. They are able to kill him not because of excessive force, but because he was ready to give up on life anyway.

...and now that simple boss will be shaded forever in my mind with a depressing story. Yaaay...?
